STEP 4: Choose Composition

I’m here to help you create the perfect composition for your artwork. Together, we’ll explore your ideas and bring them to life, ensuring every detail—whether it’s the animals, their setting, or unique elements you envision—is thoughtfully incorporated into a composition that truly captures your vision.

Choosing Your Composition

  • Consultation

The process begins with an initial consultation, where I work closely with you to understand your vision for the artwork. We'll discuss the animals you'd like to feature, the setting, and any specific details or themes that are important to you. This step ensures that your ideas are captured accurately, so I can bring your unique vision to life.

  • Sketches

Afterward, I'll spend time gathering high-quality reference photos that reflect the animals and environment you’ve envisioned. Using these references, I’ll create a detailed pencil sketch of the composition, combining your ideas and the imagery.

  • Approval

You’ll then have the opportunity to review the sketch and provide feedback, with up to two rounds of revisions to fine-tune the composition before I move forward with creating the final piece.

STEP 5: RECEIVE UPDATES

To keep you updated I will send you multiple photos as the art work progresses. Progress can also be seen on my Facebook and Instagram accounts (though if the portrait is a present I can keep it private until a set date/the intended person has received it).

"The final piece actually made me cry, it is beautiful. Not only did she manage to capture all the personality in their tiny faces, every hair looks lifelike and the composition she came up is perfect. She put so much work into making sure I was happy with it, sent me loads of updates along the way and pictures of it in progress. I could not have asked for more, thank you so much Liz!"

Ellen Warren

"Liz did an incredible pencil drawing of my Hungarian Vizsla, Kiera. She has really captured her expression and character - the likeness is amazing! I love the attention to detail, and the depth of colour. I would highly recommend Feather and Heath if you want to have a pet portrait that truly shows the personality of your dog, I'm delighted."

Clare Winton

“I recently commissioned a portrait of our pet Gecko. Liz had never drawn a Gecko before and she took time to go through pictures and get to know every scale. The portrait we received has captured his likeness so well. Thank you Liz, you’re wonderful.”
