ABOUT ME
The Early Days
From a young age, I was drawn to the intricate details of the natural world, spending countless hours sketching from my grandparents' pocket-sized 'Observer’s Books' of nature. This early fascination with precision and patience has remained at the heart of my work today, especially in mediums like coloured pencil, where depth and richness of colour are achieved through the careful layering of pigment.
Art has been a constant thread throughout my family, with both of my grandparents leaving a lasting impression on my creative journey. My Grandpa’s stunning botanical watercolours taught me the value of meticulous attention to detail, while my Nanny inspired me to explore various mediums and deepened my love for wildlife. Their influence continues to shape my work, as I strive to bring the same level of care and connection to every piece I create.
Now, I’m fortunate to live in wild West Wales, where my home sits right in front of the stunning Cambrian Mountains. My family is nearby, living on a smallholding with horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and of course, plenty of local wildlife.
With my art, I aim to bring the beauty of nature into people’s homes, celebrating the creatures that live all around us. I have a special passion for British wildlife and focus on creating highly detailed coloured pencil drawings that capture the essence of these animals. I hope you enjoy exploring my website, which showcases both my artwork and fascinating information about UK wildlife and the animals you might find in your own backyard.
